Tear the bread in pieces and soak them in little milk and keep aside.

In the cake pan or separate pan make caramel by melting 3-4 tbsp of sugar with 1 tbsp of water. when the caramel turns brown remove from heat and coat the cake pan.

Boil the milk and add the soaked bread and 4 tbsp sugar.

Remove from heat and let it cool down a little

Beat the eggs and pour it slowly in the milk mixing continuously. Put on heat again and let it cook till the mixture thicken a little.

Take off the heat once it thickens and let it cool. Add Vanilla essence and lime/lemon zest.

Once the mixture cools down blend the mixture in blender and then pour it in the caramel coated cake pan.

You can either steam the pudding for 30 min or bake it in oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit for 15-20 min or until the pudding sets. To check if its done put a knife in and if the batter doesn’t stick then its done.

Once done cool for sometime and turn it carefully.

Serve hot or cold.
